Ingredients

  • 5 lb. brisket, chuck or pork butt
  • 4 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 4 c. catsup
  • 3/4 c. Worcestershire
  • 4 c. water
  • 2/3 c. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt

Directions

    In Dutch oven, saute onions and garlic until golden.

    Add brown sugar and cook until caramelized.

    Add other ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.

    Add meat.

    Bake, covered, for 5 or 6 hours at 325°.

    Uncover last half hour.

    Remove from oven and shred meat with 2 forks and return to sauce.

    Can be frozen.
