Barbecue Shredded Beef

  • 3 c. water
  • 1 (18 oz.) bottle Hunt's barbecue sauce
  • 1 c. beer
  • 2 cloves, halved
  • 1 (2 to 3 lb.) flank steak

Directions

    In a large Dutch oven, mix together water, 1 cup barbecue sauce, beer and garlic.

    Add meat and cook, covered, over medium heat 2 hours, or until meat is tender.

    Remove meat and shred into 2-inch strips (against grain).

    Place meat back into pan with 2 cups cooking broth and remaining barbecue sauce.

    Simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.

    Serve on sandwich rolls.

    Makes 4 to 6 large sandwiches.
