Barbecued Onions

Ingredients

  • 12 small white onions, peeled (1 1/2 inch diameter)
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 slices bacon, dried and cooked crisp

Directions

    Parboil onions for 4 to 5 minutes.

    Drain and put in a buttered, shallow, 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Mix catsup, water, vinegar, salt and pepper and spread over onions.

    Sprinkle mixture with brown sugar and bacon.
