- 1/4 c. margarine
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 3/4 c. uncooked barley
- 3/4 c. slivered almonds
- 8 oz. can mushrooms
- 1 1/2 c. grated Colby cheese
- 1 soup spoon Vegex
- 4 Tbsp. McKay's chicken seasoning
Directions

1Saute onions and other ingredients, adding them in order. Transfer them into a deep, at least 3-quart, greased casserole dish.

2Add 4 cups of water, including mushroom juice.

3Bake for 2 hours at 350° or 3 1/2 hours at 225°.
