  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 3 c. tomato juice
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 c. barley

    Brown ground beef, onion and celery in a Dutch oven.

    Add tomato juice, water, spices and barley.

    Cook over low heat for one hour.
