Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. oil
  • 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Scald milk and let it cool until lukewarm.

    Soak yeast in warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar.

    Let set 5 minutes.

    Add yeast to cooled milk.

    Add 3 cups flour and beat until smooth.

    Let stand 30 minutes, then add eggs, sugar, salt and oil.

    Mix all together and add 5 to 5 1/2 cups more flour.

    Knead dough until smooth. Keep adding a little oil in bottom of pan to dough from pan.

    Let rise until doubled in bulk.
