- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 23 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
Directions

1In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

2Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Combine the egg, milk and honey; stir into the flour mixture just until combined.

4Turn onto a floured surface; knead 8-10 times.

5Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.

6Cut with a floured 2-1/2 inch biscuit cutter (I use a large glass).

7Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

8Bake @ 425 F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

9Serve warm.
