- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Add milk and stir with a fork only until dough leaves sides of bowl.

4Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead just until smooth.

5Roll 1/2-inch thick.

6Cut with biscuit cutter.

7Bake on a greased cookie sheet, slightly touching.

8Grease tops of biscuits with oil.

9Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450°.

10Makes 12 to 14 biscuits.
