Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 to 1 c. water
  • 1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz.) can light red kidney beans
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. chili powder

Directions

    Cook ground beef and onion in a Dutch oven until meat is browned, stirring until it crumbles; drain.

    Add 1/2 cup water and remaining ingredients.

    Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally (10 minutes).

    Add additional water, if necessary.

    Makes 7 cups.
