Basic Cooked Rice Prudhomme Recipe

  • 2 c. Uncooked rice (see note)
  • 2 1/2 c. Basic stock (Prudhomme)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Onions, minced very fine
  • 1 1/2 tsp Celery, minced very fine
  • 1 1/2 tsp Bell peppers,minced vy fine
  • 1 1/2 tsp Unsalted butter (preferred)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Garlic pwdr
  • 1 x Healthy pinch white pepper
  • 1 x Healthy pinch black pepper
  • 1 x Healthy pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

    In a 5x9x2-1/2-inch loaf pan, combine all ingredients; mix well.

    Seal pan snuggly with aluminum foil.

    Bake at 350F till rice is tender, about 1 hour, 10 min.

    Serve immediately.

    However, you can count on the rice staying warm for 45 min and hot for 2 hrs.

    To reheat leftover rice, either use a double boiler or possibly hot the rice in a skillet with unsalted butter.
