Ingredients

  • 1 sm finely minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 2 lb lean grnd beef
  • 2 x egg
  • 3/4 c. breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp fresh grnd pepper

Directions

    Saute/fry onion in canola oil till just done and chill.

    Mix all of the above ingredients, adding bread crumbs gradually till you have a mix which will hold together, without being too dry.

    Scoop patties by using a ladle as a measure (4 ounces to 6 ounces).

    When forming the patty make sure which the centre of the patty is shallow and the outside is thicker.

    Since patties will shrink during barbequing this will ensure which the patty remains even once cooked.

    Barbecue over medium to high heat for 5 to 7 min each side.

    Serve on buttered toasted buns with your favourite topping.
