Basic Ice Cream(Yields 2 Quarts)

- 1 tin evaporated milk
- 1 tin water
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 level Tbsp. custard powder
- vanilla essence
- 1 tsp. gelatin
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Mix custard powder with a little cold milk.

2Add to evaporated milk with slightly beaten eggs.

3Cook over boiling water in a double boiler until mixture coats spoon.

4Add 1 teaspoon gelatin dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water while the custard is hot.

5Remove from heat; cool and add condensed milk or sugar if necessary. Flavor with vanilla or mixed essence.

6Chill and freeze or churn in freezer.

7Excellent served with either fruit cocktail, flaked coconut, peaches, pears or chocolate sauce.
