Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. hot milk
- 1 c. warm water
- 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. warm water
Directions

1Place shortening, sugar and salt in mixing bowl.

2Add hot milk and stir to soften shortening.

3Let cool.

4Beat in eggs.

5Soften yeast in the warm water; add to shortening mixture.

6Add 4 cups of flour.

7Beat smooth.

8Add enough of rest of flour to make soft dough; knead 8 to 10 minutes.

9Place in a greased bowl.

10Turn over once so top of dough is greased.

11Cover with cloth and let rise until double (approximately 1 1/4 hours).

12Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.

13Shape into loaves and place into greased pans.

14Let rise again (about 1 hour).

15Bake at 400° for 25 or 30 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and let cool.
