- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water.

2Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 cup flour.

3Mix by hand.

4Add the remaining 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour.

5Beat until smooth.

6Spoon into a greased muffin pan about 1/2 full.

7Pat with a little flour and cover with a cloth.

8Let rise in a warm place about 40 minutes.

9Bake 18 to 20 minutes at 375°.

10Makes 15 buns.
