- 2/3 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 2/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 egg
Directions

1Measure water into mixer bowl.

2Add yeast, stirring to dissolve.

3Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.

4Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 cup flour.

5Combine with mixer on low speed, guiding batter into beaters with rubber scraper. Add remaining flour; beat with scraper until smooth.

6Spoon into greased muffin cups, filling each a scant 1/2 full.

7Let rise in warm place until batter reaches top of muffin cups, 30 to 40 minutes.

8Heat oven to 375°.

9Bake 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

10Serve warm.

11Makes 12 buns.
