- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 3/4 c. warm water
- 6 1/2 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Sprinkle yeast on warm water.

2Let stand, then stir.

3Add 3 1/4 cups flour, sugar, salt and shortening.

4Beat well; add rest of flour.

5Cover and let rise until doubled (45 minutes).

6Stir down; put into 2 greased bread pans.

7Let rise until double (20 minutes or more).

8Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

9Rub with margarine to keep crust soft.
