Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup paprika mild or hot
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice or allspice
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp parsley flake dried
  • 2 tsp oregano flake dried
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper optional

Directions

    Mix all ingredients by hand to remove clumps of brown sugar.

    This is an all purpose rub that will work for anything!

    The secret is the Chinese five spice it gives a subtle hint of cloves and heat.

    Lightly dust over ribs for smoking.

    For the best results dust ribs and let sit in fridge for 2 hours

    This rub will work for anything.

    Chicken, pork, and beef.

    Haven't tried it yet for lamb so if you do please let me know :) if using for lamb add about 1 tablespoon of rosemary or mint to the rub.

    Just make sure it is dried so the sugar doesn't stick together.
