Bean Dip

Ingredients

  • 15 ounces fat-free refried beans (1 can)
  • 12 cup sweet onion, finely chopped (minced if possible)
  • jalapeno pepper, diced (I use the pickled ones in a jar, as many or as few as you like)
  • 12 cup of your favorite picante sauce
  • 12 ounce taco seasoning (1/2 pack)
  • 1 dash cumin
  • 12 cup shredded cheddar cheese or 12 cup monterey jack cheese

Directions

    Mix first 5 ingredients in a sauce pan over medium low heat.

    Simmer about 10 minutes until heated well.

    Add shredded cheese, stir well, turn heat to low and simmer for about 5 more minutes.

    Remove from heat and place in a plastic container with lid.

    Serve right away or allow to sit for awhile.
