- 1 1/2 c. brown rice
- 3 c. pure apple juice
- 1/2 c. chives, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3/4 c. garbanzos
- 1/2 lb. peas with buds
- 4 medium carrots
- 2 ears corn
Directions

1Place rice, apple juice, chives and bell pepper in slow cooker and cook for 3 hours.

2Meanwhile, steam garbanzos (which have soaked overnight in water) for 1 hour.

3Add peas, carrots and corn to steamer and continue steaming for another 10 to 15 minutes.

4Remove vegetables along with garbanzos to rice in slow cooker.

5Serve when ready.
