Bean Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. soup beans
  • small piece of ham with bone
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1/2 c. carrot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. season salt

Directions

    Cook beans and ham together, until beans are tender. Separately, cook carrots, celery, onions and seasoning together and add to ham and beans.

    Cook potatoes and drain, reserving broth.

    Mash potatoes.

    Add reserved broth to ham and beans, and simmer for about 20 minutes.

    Add mashed potatoes last and simmer for about 15 minutes.
