Ingredients
- 2 c. navy beans
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ham shank with meat
- 3 1/2 qt. water
- 1/3 c. mashed potatoes
- 2 large onions, diced
- 3 to 4 carrots, diced
- 5 ribs celery, diced
- garlic powder (about 1 tsp.)
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. rosemary
- crushed red pepper to taste
- salt to taste
Directions

1Bring water and ham to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

2Add beans and simmer 1 hour.

3Stir in potatoes and all else.

4Cook 45 minutes to 1 hour.

5Serve with warm cheese bread.
