Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 lb. lean stew beef (I use chuck roast)
  • 2 large cans tomatoes
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 c. water
  • 8 cloves garlic (I use minced garlic in a jar)
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Put all in large saucepan and cook for 5 or 6 hours or until beef falls into shreds.

    The mixture should be of a consistency for serving on buns.

    (Butt end of fresh pork can be used in this recipe.)

    Serves 20.
