  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 3 lb. chuck roast
  • 2 stalks chopped celery
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 4 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 large onion, chopped

Directions

    Brown the meat on both sides in a large pan.

    Lower the heat and add the chopped onion and celery.

    Cover and cook over a low heat until the meat leaves the bones.

    Remove fat and gristle and shred the meat.

    You may prefer to remove the fat prior to cooking so the broth can be used in the sauce.
