Beef Biscuit Casserole

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. green pepper (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) refrigerator biscuits
  • 1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

    Brown beef, onion and pepper in a large frying pan. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic salt. Simmer. Separate biscuits into ten.

    Pull biscuits apart into 2 layers. Press 10 over bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish.

    Combine 1/2 cup of the cheese (keep remaining cheese for top) with sour cream and egg.

    Mix well.

    Remove meat from heat. Stir in sour cream mix. Spoon over dough. Arrange remaining biscuits over top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
