- 2 1/2 lb. beef round steak (1/4-inch thick)
- 1/4 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. finely snipped parsley
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 6 oz. can whole mushrooms, drained
- 1 c. Burgundy
- 3/4 c. water
Directions

1Cut steak into bite-size cubes.

2Shake with the flour to coat, being sure all flour is used.

3Melt butter or margarine in skillet.

4Brown steak pieces on all sides.

5Remove from heat.
-
6Add onion, parsley, bay leaf, salt and pepper.

7Stir in mushrooms, Burgundy and water.
-
8Heat mixture to boiling.
-
9Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for about 1 hour, or until meat is tender. Remove bay leaf.
