  • 3 lb. round steak or 3 lb. top sirloin, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 c. margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth (bouillon)
  • 1 (4 or 8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. Burgundy
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • cooked rice

Directions

    Brown meat in melted margarine and put into a 2-quart baking dish.

    Blend flour and seasonings.

    Mix flour with wine and beef bouillon.

    Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 325° for 2 hours. Add onion and mushrooms.

    Cover and continue cooking 1 hour more. Serve over hot rice.
