  • 1 1/2 c. pearl onions (about 1/2 lb.)
  • 4 c. peeled, cubed red potatoes (about 1 1/2 lb.)
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. salt, divided
  • 1/8 tsp. white pepper
  • 2/3 c. sliced carrots
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 c. Burgundy or other dry red wine
  • 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. water, divided
  • 3/4 tsp. dried whole marjoram
  • 3/4 tsp. dried whole thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. beef-flavored bouillon granules
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 c. fresh mushroom halves
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
