  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut in bite size
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can beef consomme
  • 1 to 2 ends bread, crumbled
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 jar mushrooms (optional)

Directions

    Place beef in casserole; salt and pepper. Add soup and bread. Put onion slices on top; cover. Bake at 300° for 3 hours or until tender. Add mushrooms. Serves 4. Serve over rice or noodles.
