- 3 lb. chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. flour
- salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 c. beef consomme
- 1 1/2 c. beer
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. parsley
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp. thyme
Directions

1Brown meat, onions and garlic in butter.

2Add flour.

3Mix well to coat beef.

4Add consomme and beer.

5Season with rest of ingredients.

6Bake in 300° oven until meat is tender, about 3 hours.

7Serve with noodles or rice.
