  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 lb. sirloin strips, cut across grain
  • 1/3 c. soy sauce
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 2 c. cut celery
  • 2 c. green onion
  • 1 green pepper, cut in strips
  • 2 (5 oz.) cans mushrooms, drained
  • 2 (5 oz.) cans water chestnuts, drained

Directions

    Cook beef briskly 1 to 2 minutes in 12-inch skillet with salad oil.

    Pour soy sauce and water over. Add sugar and monosodium glutamate.

    Bring to a boil.

    Add celery, onion and green pepper. Cook over high heat for 3 minutes. Add water chestnuts and mushrooms.

    Cook until hot. Serves 6.
