- 6 beef cube steaks
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3/4 cup bottled light french salad dressing
- 1 1/2 cups carrots, shredded
- 3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup water
- 6 slices bacon
Directions

1Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.

2Marinate in French dressing 30-60 minutes, at room temperature.

3In saucepan, simmer vegetables, covered, in water until tender-crisp, about 7-8 minutes; drain.

4Drain steaks; place about 1/3 cup vegetable mixture on each steak.

5Roll up jelly roll fashion.

6Cut bacon slices in half, crosswise.

7Wrap two half pieces bacon around each roll-up; secure with wooden toothpicks.

8Grill steaks over hot coals, or broil 3-4 inches from heat, 20-25 minutes, turning steaks occasionally.
