Ingredients

  • 4 bouillon cubes
  • 1 lb. beef cubes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 c. cubed potatoes or rutabagas
  • 2 c. cubed or sliced carrots
  • 1 c. green beans, frozen
  • 4 c. water

Directions

    Cut beef cubes in half; coat with flour and brown in oil in pan.

    Add onion and garlic; saute.

    Drain and transfer to stock pot.

    Add water, bouillon cubes, celery, potatoes and carrots or rutabagas.

    Simmer for 1 hour.

    Add green beans.

    Simmer another hour.

    Thicken with flour and water, if necessary, before serving. Serve with soft rolls.
