Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon dried damiana leaves
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 ounces single-malt Scotch, not too smoky
  • 2 teaspoons raspberry preserves
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Citrus zest strips, rose petals or raspberries, for garnish

Directions

    Add the damiana and sugar to 1/2 cup boiling water.

    Cover for 2 minutes, strain and refrigerate until cool.

    Measure 3 ounces of the damiana tea into a cocktail shaker.

    (Cover and refrigerate the remainder for another use.)

    Add the Scotch, preserves and lemon juice with two big handfuls of ice and shake vigorously.

    Strain over ice into a Cognac snifter or an Old-Fashioned glass.

    Add the garnish of your choice.
