Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef stew meat
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 Oxo beef cube
  • 1/2 c. Hunt's tomato sauce
  • 3 potatoes, cubed
  • 5 carrots, chopped
  • parsley
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 to 1 c. water (as necessary)
  • 1/2 c. beer
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk

Directions

    Brown beef in oil.

    Remove from dish.

    Saute celery, onion, garlic and parsley.

    Add beef to pot again.

    Add beef cube, water, tomato sauce and spices.

    Simmer about 3/4 hour.

    Add vegetables. Cook until tender.

    Simmer, covered, about 1/2 hour longer.

    Add beer anytime after vegetables.
