- 3 Tbsp. Mazola corn oil
- 2 lb. stewing beef, cut in 2-inch cubes
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp. crushed dried thyme leaves
- 4 1/2 c. water
- 6 carrots, cut in 3-inch strips
- 12 small white onions
- 1/4 c. Argo cornstarch
Directions

1In skillet, heat corn oil over medium heat.

2Add beef; brown on all sides.

3Add next 4 ingredients and 4 cups of the water. Cover; bring to boil.

4Reduce heat; simmer 1 1/2 hours.

5Add carrots and onions.

6Simmer 1/2 hour or until tender.

7Mix cornstarch and 1/2 cup water.

8Stir into beef mixture.

9Bring to boil, stirring constantly.

10Boil 1 minute.
