  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 4 carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 to 2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 medium onions, quartered and separated
  • 1 qt. V-8 juice
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 2 Tbsp. barley (uncooked)
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Brown beef.

    Place in roaster with all other ingredients. Cover.

    Bake at 250° for 4 hours.

    Can also be placed in crock-pot on low for 8 hours.

    May also add corn, peas and green beans, if desired.
