  • 1 lb. stew beef, cut in small size pieces (about the size of a quarter)
  • 2 1/2 c. peeled and coarsely diced potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 c. sliced carrots
  • 2 stalks celery (left whole)
  • about 4 to 6 pieces beef fat (about the size of a fifty cent piece)
  • water to cover
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

    I cook this in

    slow cooker.

    Put all ingredients in and cook until meat and potatoes are done.

    After the celery is cooked for a while, I remove it.

    This is very good on a cold day or anytime.
