  • 1/2 lb. fresh or canned mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 2 c. bouillon or consomme
  • 1 c. sour cream (light can be used)

Directions

    Saute onion and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter and remove from pan.

    Cut meat into strips 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide.

    Melt additional 2 tablespoons butter in pan.

    Toss strips in flour, coating thoroughly.

    Brown meat in butter.

    Add salt and bouillon.

    Simmer, stirring occasionally until meat is tender, about 1 1/4 hours.

    Add mushrooms and onion and sour cream.

    Heat. Serve over noodles or rice.
