  • 1 beef tongue
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (14 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 medium size onion
  • garlic powder

Directions

    Wash beef tongue.

    Cut in half and place in crock-pot.
  3. 3
    Add water, tomatoes, salt, black pepper and garlic powder.

    Slice onion and place on top of tongue.
  5. 5
    Cover and cook for 8 to 10 hours (at 300° approximately) at medium setting.

    Tongue should be very tender when done.

    Peel when cool.

    Slice or shred.

    Can be served on flour or corn tortillas sprinkled with picante sauce if desired.
