Beer Batter Bread

  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 12 oz. beer (room temperature)
  • 1 stick butter, divided

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar and beer and put in a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

    Melt butter and pour 4 tablespoons (half) of it on top of dough.
  3. 3
    Bake in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes, then pour remaining butter over top.

    Continue baking 40 more minutes. Remove from oven; remove from pan.

    Cool on wire rack.
  6. 6
    Best when toasted.
