- 1 lb. butter (4 sticks)
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 4 c. sifted cake flour
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Cream together butter and sugar until mixture is light and fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Add flour and milk alternately, beating thoroughly after each addition.

4Pour batter into 2 (9 x 5 x 2 1/2-inch) loaf pans that have been lined with heavy brown paper and thoroughly buttered.

5Bake in moderate oven at 350° for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to stand 10 minutes, then remove from pan and carefully strip off paper.

6Cool on rack.

7Makes 2 loaf cakes.
