Beer Bread

6 steps

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces, fluid Beer (I Use Bud Light)
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Melted (optional)

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a loaf pan with non-stick baking spray.
  2. 2
Pour beer into a large bowl and set aside. Squeeze in honey.
  3. 3
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar with a whisk. Slowly add to the beer mixture and stir with a wooden spoon just until incorporated. Don't over mix or the bread will be tough. A few lumps are okay in this situation!
  4. 4
Pour into the loaf pan, drizzle melted butter on top, and bake for 45-55 minutes. The top will be golden brown.
  5. 5
Allow the loaf to cool 10 minutes in the pan. Remove and allow the bread to continue to cool on a baking rack or eat immediately! Serve with celery, chips, crackers or dip.
  6. 6
It's best hot from the oven but will last in an airtight container or zip-top bag for several days.
