  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 gal. raw beets

Directions

    Wash beets and boil until fork-tender.

    Peel and cut to desired size.

    Boil vinegar, sugar, cloves and salt.

    Add beets and reheat to boiling.

    Pack into jars and cover with liquid. Seal.
