  • 4 ounces, weight Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 2 sticks Butter Or Margarine
  • 1-1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 3 Tablespoons Dark Karo Syrup
  • 1 pound Confectioners Sugar

    Grease and flour a 13 x 9 pan. Heat oven to 325°F. Melt chocolate and margarine together and let cool. Sift dry ingredients. Beat eggs until light, then add sugar. Then add chocolate mixture, followed by the dry ingredients. Add vanilla and syrup. Pour into the pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool. Cut into squares and roll in powdered sugar.
