  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. sifted plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    In saucepan, mix first 4 ingredients.

    Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.

    Mix together and pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake 20 minutes at 400°.
