  • 2 cans tart pie cherries (not filling)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 3 or 4 drops almond extract
  • 10 drops red food coloring

Directions

    Drain cherries, but reserve 3/4 cup juice.

    Combine cherries, juice, sugar, tapioca, almond extract and red food coloring.

    Put in a large 9 or 10-inch unbaked pie crust.

    Dot with butter and lattice topping.

    Bake at 400° for 50 to 55 minutes.
