Ingredients

  • 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. light or dark syrup (Karo)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • pinch of cream of tartar
  • 5 qt. popped corn
  • 1 c. salted peanuts

Directions

    Boil sugar, syrup, butter and cream of tartar for 5 minutes. Add soda quickly, stirring in.

    Pour over popcorn.

    Mix well and spread on lightly greased cookie sheet (I use 2 cookie sheets). Put in 200° oven for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

    Take out and let cool.
