- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 3/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water in large mixing bowl.

2Add sugar, shortening, eggs, nutmeg, salt and 2 cups of flour.

3Beat on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds.

4Beat on medium speed, scraping occasionally, 2 minutes.

5Stir in rest of flour until smooth.

6Cover, let rise in warm place until double (about 45 minutes).

7Dough is ready when indentation remains when touched with floured finger.

8Stir dough down by beating 25 strokes to 1/2 size.

9Roll dough into sizes to form body, head and ears.
