- 9 c. self rising flour
- 1/4 c. baking powder
- 10 oz. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 3/4 to 4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients together in bowl.

2Add shortening and work in until crumblike texture.

3Pour in buttermilk and work up as a stiff dough.

4Pour out on well floured surface.

5Work in flour with hands until stickiness is gone.

6Roll out with floured dough roller and cut with floured biscuit cutter.

7Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.

8Makes 44 biscuits.
