- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 4 Tbsp. water warm
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients.

2Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water.

4Add yeast and buttermilk to dry mixture.

5Mix well.

6Roll out desired amount on lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thick.

7Cut with 2-inch cutter.

8Let rise 10 minutes.

9Preheat oven to 450°.

10Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

11Watch carefully until you get the time right for your oven.

12Dough will keep in refrigerator a week in covered container or plastic bag.
